Each year we do the nativity on Christmas Eve or the Monday before Christmas. Usually we have Alyssa and Vic and their little ones too, but they weren't here this time. I wondered who would be 'Mary' since I was the narrator. Hayden volunteered to be Mary and I was trying to help him get the costume on. (It wasn't going so well). Luckily, Alex's girlfriend, Tamires, showed up. So we had us a Mary. Chandler was Joseph. A cabbage patch elf was Baby Jesus. Hayden and Bridger were shepherds. Ryland was our angel. Tim and Alex were wise men. And John was the video recorder to save this event for all to see later!!! We were ready to start!!!! Well, our nativity never goes as nice and smooth as I hope. The shepherd Hayden hit Joseph (Chandler) in the crotch when the shepherd came. Poor Joseph doubled over as if her were worshipping the baby Jesus. Poor Mary (Tamires) was trying not to laugh!! Then as the shepherds were returning to their fields Joseph(Chandler) tackled shepherd Hayden and had him in a head lock until the narrator (Me-Jolene) made them stop. Our little angel (Ryland) loved to dance and sing the whole time!! As the wisemen journeyed to see the babe, wise man Alex stopped along the way to tackle shepherd Hayden again. Our little nativity is turning into a side show!!! Hopefully, next year will go a little better.
